Shortening Your Kilt: Expert Kilt Alteration Services
If you have inherited your kilt, perhaps it is a family heirloom it might be too long for you. There are two ways of shortening your kilt; one which is reversible, the other not. You can add a hem to your kilt allowing it to be taken up a few inches temporarily and is the preferred method. A hem can be removed at a later date allowing the kilt to return to the original length which is particularly useful especially if your kilt is a family heirloom and has been passed down through generations.
Alternatively if you are after a more permanent solution, the waistband can be removed and the kilt can be shortened that way. This is not recommended as it is completely irreversible and the kilt can never return to its original size.
