History of House of Argyll

Founded in 1995 by Pipe Major Bill Clezy and his wife Maureen building the Argyll Kilts from nothing, we quickly became the preferred primary supplier to the Ministry of Defence for kilts and highland wear over a vast number of years. Quickly becoming Scotland’s Premier Kiltmakers of Distinction, winning awards such as the 1999 Business Excellence Award and the 2000 John Loggie Baird Award for Innovation.

In April 2018 Andrew, a nephew of Bill’s who wanted to retire, took over the company and rebranded to House of Argyll. Having the family at the heart of the business with everyone playing their part, we believe in providing a second to none service for hire and purchase at reasonable prices.

We pride ourselves in making traditional handsewn 8 yard kilts and highland accessories sourced from Scotland. Based in Alexandria, we are a stone’s throw away from many of the popular wedding venues along the shores of Loch Lomond.
